#musicmonday Super Into On It EP by Linkoban

If you haven’t heard of Linkoban, I wouldn’t blame you. She seems to have kept a relatively low profile since her first single, the super-catchy, super hyped up dancy beaty track “Like This” hit Youtube in February this year. In fact, at time of writing, she has less than 500 Twitter followers, less than 2,700 likes on Facebook, and less than five tracks out.

Her video for “Like This” is a frenzy of dark and colour and shaking, and the lyrics are super-catchy, “how can I be pretty when I shaking like this”, and “peel another pomelo, peel away your frown”, and it quickly became my most-played song on iTunes, as it’s one of them tracks you can sit there and listen on repeat. So, when her EP dropped, I was excited and a bit worried, what if she couldn’t live up to the high expectations I had set for her?

But, I needn’t have worried, title track “Super Into On It” is a 3 and a half minute frenzy of modern life, where the Danish rapper declares her love for the internet, and how she’s “super shallow if I do, super stale if I don’t, super complicated living, being on the scroll.” And then the video dropped, and it was one of the darkest, creepiest pop creations I had ever seen.  (And one of few videos I replayed loads…)

And the other tracks on the EP don’t disappoint either, with “Wipe Your Mouth” declaring that “I’m a copy of a clone, I’m original, made in China, the quality here, you don’t get it finer”, with the almost trademark heavy beat and full-on relentless musical frenzy.

The last, but not least track, “One Trick Pony”, is more of the same, but not in a bad way, in a super-catchy, why isn’t this in the charts? way, where she announces that “love is the colour of a runny nose-bleed”.

You can buy the EP, follow @linkoban and like her.
